Dermal fillers are made with synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA) that is designed to restore the skin’s depleted supply of HA and collagen, which is needed for a supple, healthy skin. Fillers are recommended for deeper lines and areas of volume loss on a face, such as the cheeks, temples, and lips. We provide Restylane, Restylane Lyft, and Restylane Silk.
Ideal Candidate
This is suitable for most skin tones and types, especially if you:
- Are looking for a nonsurgical procedure
- Are looking for a preventative treatment to fine lines and wrinkles
- Do not have allergies to hyaluronic acid or similar products
Procedure Technique
Dermal filler injections are typically completed in our office as an outpatient procedure and can be combined with another facial or skin care treatment. In the visit, you will perform various facial expressions, such as smiling, squinting, frowning, etc. Then we will clean the skin and inject the Dysport with a fine needle. Injections typically take about 10-15 minutes and we ask that you don’t lay down in at least 4 hours after the procedure.
What to Expect
After your dermal filler injection, your skin may be slightly swollen, red, or bruised for the next 7-10 days. It is highly recommended that you avoid touching your face in the first 24 hours. You may resume with your typical daily activities, but we ask that you avoid any strenuous exercise for at least the first 24 hours. The results are instantaneous and may last up to a year. If touchups are needed, please feel free to schedule that as needed.
